The Ninja DualBrew replaces two appliances: a drip coffee maker and a Nespresso Original capsule machine. That's its whole purpose, and it pulls it off better than the gimmicky hybrids we've seen in the past.

On the drip side, you dose your ground coffee with the supplied scoop, then choose:

1. 3 brew styles: Classic, Rich (bolder) and Over Ice (concentrated so it isn't diluted)

On the capsule side, the machine accepts Nespresso Original capsules and their compatibles (L'Or, Carte Noire, Starbucks…), with 4 sizes: Ristretto (25 ml), Espresso (40 ml), Lungo (110 ml) and Over Ice (30 ml). The rated 19-bar pressure is standard for the Original system.

Coffee quality: honest, no more

Let's be clear about what this machine does well — and less well.

The drip coffee is the strong point. The XL water spreader saturates the grounds evenly and the "Rich" mode produces a noticeably bolder cup than basic €50-80 drip coffee makers. With fresh, quality ground coffee, the result far surpasses supermarket filter coffee.

The capsule espresso is decent: crema present, consistent extraction. But based on the synthesis of user feedback, it stays a notch below a dedicated Nespresso Pixie or Essenza in intensity and in-cup temperature. If straight espresso is your main drink, a dedicated Nespresso machine at €80-110 will do better for less.

The built-in frother: handy, not miraculous

The fold-away milk whisk is a smart design idea: it tucks against the machine's side and disappears. In use, you dip the tip into a pitcher of milk (hot or cold) and hold the button. The resulting foam is fine for a family latte, but:

• the texture stays more "bubbly" than steam-wand microfoam
• the operation is manual and needs watching
• it's a backup accessory, not a real milk system like Philips' LatteGo or De'Longhi's LatteCrema

Everyday use

The features that save time:

• Delay Brew: program the carafe the night before and the coffee is ready when you wake up — filter-machine users' favorite feature
• Keep Warm: the warming plate keeps the carafe at temperature for up to 4 hours, with 3 temperature levels (low, medium, high) — set it to "low" to avoid a stewed-coffee taste
• Cleaning cycle indicator: the machine alerts you when it's time to descale

Maintenance is simple: the filter holder, carafe, removable water tank, cup tray and whisk are all dishwasher-safe. Expect to descale every 2-3 months depending on your water hardness.

One thing to watch: at 41 cm tall, check the clearance under your kitchen cabinets — that's taller than a classic Nespresso (32 cm) and a Magnifica (35 cm).

The Ninja Prestige DualBrew is the machine we'll recommend in 2026 to every "hybrid" household: the one that wants a carafe of drip coffee on Sunday morning and a hurried capsule espresso on Monday at 7 AM. The concept is finally well executed — serious drip brewing, truly open capsule compatibility, practical features (programming, keep-warm) — at a price that stays under €300.

Its limits are those of any 2-in-1: the espresso doesn't match a dedicated machine, and the manual frother will fill in more than it will convince latte-art fans. But at this price, no other machine covers as many uses with as much coherence.
