Siemens EQ.6 Plus S700 Review — Our 2026 Verdict
Overall rating: 8.7/10 — German engineering put to the cup test
The Siemens EQ.6 Plus S700 is Siemens' "reasonable" high-end machine: €699-799, German build, touchscreen and Home Connect connectivity. We tested it 4 weeks (120+ cups) to see whether it justifies its price against €300 machines.

Testing Methodology
- Duration: 4 weeks, 120+ cups (2 people)
- Coffees tested: 8 varieties (espresso, arabica, medium and dark roast)
- Comparison: Jura E8, De'Longhi Magnifica Evo, Philips 5500 LatteGo
- Measurements: in-cup temperature, brewing time, noise (decibel meter), standby consumption
Coffee Quality
The Siemens serves very consistent, well-heated coffee: 63-66°C in the cup, stable from one cup to the next. The espresso is decent but lacks intensity next to a Jura or even a De'Longhi Magnifica Evo — the extraction profile is "safe", too cautious for dark roasts.
| Criterion | Rating | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Espresso (40 ml) | 8/10 | Consistent, correct crema, low intensity |
| Long coffee (200 ml) | 8.5/10 | Excellent balance |
| Cappuccino (wand) | 7.5/10 | Decent but coarse foam |
| Temperature | 9/10 | The most stable in our tests |
| Consistency | 9/10 | Exceptional |
The flat white is good, the cappuccino average — without a milk carafe, the foam depends on your technique.
Design and App
The finish is excellent: dense matte plastics, no loose parts, visible German build. The 4.3" touchscreen is responsive and the menu logical — the most pleasant machine to configure in our lab.
Home Connect: the app is the best in the coffee machine market. Fine settings per drink (temperature, quantity, intensity), maintenance counters, brew history. A good part of the price is justified here.
What We Like Less
- No milk carafe: for €700, the Philips 5500 LatteGo (€450) does cappuccino better.
- "Safe" coffee: extraction is too cautious for purists.
- Segment pricing: performance is close to a €300 machine; you're paying for design and brand.
- Bulk: 23 cm wide, plan the space.
Siemens EQ.6 vs Alternatives
| Criterion | EQ.6 (€699-799) | Magnifica Evo (€329) | Jura E8 (€1,200) |

Choose the EQ.6 if: design, connectivity and brand matter as much as the coffee, and you mostly drink black coffee.
Choose the Magnifica Evo if: the coffee comes first — you save €400.
Choose the Jura E8 if: you want the best coffee and automatic milk drinks.
Our Verdict
The Siemens EQ.6 Plus is a beautiful, very well-built machine with the best app on the market. But it lives in a strange segment: its coffee is at the level of a €300 machine, and the lack of a milk carafe disqualifies it against milky machines under €500.
We recommend it to design and brand lovers of Siemens who drink black coffee. For pure coffee, the De'Longhi Magnifica Evo is smarter; for milky coffee, the Philips 5500 LatteGo; for unabashed premium, the Jura E8.
Rating: 8.7/10

The Siemens EQ.6 Plus is a very well-built machine that serves consistent, hot coffee, with an excellent app. But it sits in a strange segment: its performance is close to a €300 machine, and its premium positioning without a milk carafe leaves us puzzled. Buy it if design and brand matter — not for the coffee alone.
